Latest News:

6-9-09: After a long period of inactivity, we're back in the saddle! As some of you know, our amazing lead guitar player, David, left to devote the time he needed to his Doctorate program. We've not yet found a suitable replacement for him (seriously, if you've heard him play you know that's a tall order to fill), but we soldier on as a four-piece. We've got a gig coming up at Sci-Fi Summer Con this week, and we'll be debuting a new song "Dead-End Drive-In". Come see us if you can!

10-8-08: We've gotten a really great set of photos from the Dragon*Con show. You can see three of them at the left. Go to the Gallery page for more!

9-4-08: Our gig this past weekend was so much fun! We played a set of nearly all originals with a few choice covers thrown in, like "London Dungeon" by the Misfits and "Ziggy Stardust" by the mighty Bowie. This show saw the debut of our new song "Turn Left" which was inspired by the recent Doctor Who episode of the same name. We had an amazing time and we got great feedback all weekend long. We're really hoping we get to do it again next year!

7-17-08: Its about 10:00 p.m. and word just came: its now officially official—Hyperdrive is playing DRAGON*CON!!!!! We're extremely excited about this. We're playing on Thursday night, which is a much smaller crowd than the rest of the weekend, but that's okay, its still Dragon*Con!

7-16-08: We're currently shopping around for new gigs. And while we have some time for it, we've been working hard on new material. Some of the songs that are in the works is a new punk-ish song called "Dead-End Drive-In" which is a song that Bob brought in and the rest of us contributed to. It takes all the cliches of drive-in theatres as well as those of horror/monster movies and mashes them together. Then there's "Turn Left", which if you're a Doctor Who fan, you can guess where that one came from. Alan wrote the lyrics for that one, and one night in rehearsal, while shitting around, Edward came up with a pretty cool riff and chord progression that turned out to be perfect for the song. So the song came about in a sort of roundabout fashion. There's a couple other things that are in the works: David's come up with a really awesome surf-style song that needs lyrics, and Bob is working on a Mad Max idea as well as a Dune-inspired idea called "Sandworms Under My Skin". Soon as we have some new gigs to play these songs at, we'll announce them here!
